High School Grading System

Teachers are charged with the responsibility of grading students and recognizing their individual differences. Grading should be based on the progress that the individual student has made towards accomplishing the set goals and objectives.

Students Entering into Ninth Grade in 2014 – 2015 School Year and Before

Students Entering into Ninth Grade in 2015 – 2016 School Year and Later

 90-100  4.0  4.5  5.0
 80-89  3.0  3.5  4.0
 70-79  2.0  2.5  3.0
 60-69  1.0  1.5  2.0
 ≤ 59  0.0  0.0  0.0

Performance on the End-of-Course test will count as 20% of the final grade for students enrolled in NC Math I or any other high school credit course that requires an EOC. Depending on the course, this may be a state, district, or teacher exam.

Report Cards

Report cards are issued within a week following the end of each grading period. At the midpoint of the grading period, all students receive interim reports to take home to parents.
