  • LCPS educators among first Rethink Education grads

    Seven LCPS educators whose work helps ensure the quality of the district’s standard-setting digital learning initiative have earned their Rethink Education Facilitator Badge from the N.C. Department of Instruction as members of the initial cohort trained to become experts in how to use new statewide blended learning models that add online learning to existing classroom teaching.

  • Teacher of Year has head for math, heart for 'honeybuns'

    Pauline Lindo, who sees her seventh graders as individuals when it comes to teaching math but who thinks of them all as her “honeybuns” when it comes to encouraging them, is the LCPS Teacher of the Year for 2022-2023. Lindo, who has spent the last five of her 20 years in the classroom at EB Frink Middle School, received the award Tuesday night at the district’s annual Employee Recognition Banquet.

  • 26 LCPS students competing in state Science Fair

    Twenty-six LCPS students and their 20 projects are moving on the 2022 Virtual NC Science and Engineering Fair after top finishes in regional competition. The virtual state competition started Friday and runs through the weekend, with awards presentations beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday.

  • LCPS names Teacher of the Year finalists for 2022-2023

    Jordan Hudson of Northwest Elementary School, Pauline Lindo of EB Frink Middle School and Candace Tilghman-Rouse of Northeast Elementary School were chosen Thursday to advance in the Teacher of the Year selection process by a panel of judges who interviewed all 17 educators named as their school’s Teacher of the Year.

  • LCPS seeking substitute teachers

    Are you interested in making a difference in the lives of young people in Lenoir County by becoming a substitute teacher? LCPS is now taking applications for the 2021-2022 school year. To qualify, applicants must complete an Effective Teacher Training course (offered at Lenoir Community College) or possess a valid teaching license, complete an online application and get on the waiting list for an interview.
