  • Schools do super in contest promoting public education

    E.B. Frink Middle School won first place for its video and a poster created in an exceptional children class at Southeast Elementary School won third place in statewide contests sponsored by the North Carolina School Boards Association designed to highlight “What’s Super about Public Schools.” North Lenoir High earned an honorable mention for its video in the high school division.

  • Teachers at six schools win 12 NC Bright Ideas grants

    Lenoir County’s 12 grants – which included six to teachers at Contentnea-Savannah K-8 School – ranked it No. 2 in total awards. Other schools in the winner’s circle were Kinston High School and Northwest, Northeast, Southeast and Southwood elementary schools.

  • Expanded fruit, veggie snack program serving six schools

    A program funded by a USDA grant has expanded over the last three years to now provide fresh fruit and vegetables snacks to more than 3,000 students at six elementary schools and the pre-kindergarten classrooms in Lenoir County Public Schools.

  • Coding instruction expanding into K-5 classrooms

    After a year of formalized coding instruction in middle and high schools, LCPS is expanding the curriculum into elementary classrooms behind the work of a select group of teachers who comprise the Elementary Coding Cohort and Digital Learning Specialists at the nine elementary schools.

  • LCPS seeking substitute teachers

    Are you interested in making a difference in the lives of young people in Lenoir County by becoming a substitute teacher? LCPS is now taking applications for the 2019-2020 school year. To qualify, applicants must complete an Effective Teacher Training course (offered at Lenoir Community College) or possess a valid teaching license, complete an online application and get on the waiting list for an interview.
