Pre-Kindergarten

In association with the Lenoir-Greene Partnership for Children and North Carolina Pre-K, LCPS offers parents of children 3 to 5 years of age a high-quality early childhood program designed to prepare children for a successful experience in our kindergarten classes.

Classes for about 200 pre-K students are conveniently situated around the county at six elementary schools. All are staffed by certified teachers and feature a rigorous curriculum; all are rated as five-star facilities by the N.C. Division of Child Development. Breakfast and lunch are provided by the program.

The program is open to children who are 3 or 4 years old by August 31 of each year. Early registration for the coming school year is usually held in March. For more information about our pre-K program, call 252-527-8099.
