Dr. Heather Walston

Dr. Heather Walston graduated from ECU in 2003 with a Batchelor’s degree in political science and a minor in history. She began teaching at South Lenoir High School in 2004 where she remained until she was awarded the North Carolina Principal Fellows scholarship in 2012. From 2012-2014, she successfully completed the program and graduated with her Masters in school administration in 2014. She served as an Assistant Principal at EB Frink Middle School from 2014-2016. She then became Principal of Northwest Elementary School in 2016. Dr. Walston received her Doctorate in Education from East Carolina University in May of 2020.
