  • Virtual summer school helps LCPS refine remote learning

    Four weeks of online classes will assist K-5 students who need an academic boost and will also allow LCPS to test drive instructional techniques for remote learning that will be important if the district has to go that route during the regular school year.

    Lenoir County Public Schools is now registering students for kindergarten and pre-kindergarten for the 2020-2021 school year. Registration procedures vary, with most schools asking parents to call for an appointment in an effort to comply with public health guidelines.

  • Title of state's best cafeteria manager stays with LCPS

    Moss Hill Elementary School cafeteria manager Cheryl Hinson, known for her love of children and her work ethic, has won the title of 2020 Manager of the Year for North Carolina from the School Nutrition Association – the second consecutive year the award has gone to a cafeteria manger from Lenoir County Public Schools.
