Mrs. Kim Parrott’s second-period English class at North Lenoir High School wanted to do something for military spouses. Mrs. Parrott’s husband recently retired from the Air Force and she knows firsthand the struggles of being a military wife.
Each year in May, the organization Support Military Spouses fills shoe boxes for military spouses with gift cards, pampering items and always a caring card, created by hand in appreciation for the sacrifices that the spouses make.
Mrs. Parrott said, “My classes created sixty-eight cards. Some of them were very artistic but all of them were heartfelt. I am sure the spouses were pleased to receive them in their boxes.”
