On September 13th, the Lenoir County National Pan-Hellenic Council held its annual picnic, and this year, the council decided to collect school supplies for LCPS students. On September 27th, council representatives dropped by the central office with a box filled to the brim with supplies for those that need them most in the school system.
"Though we're already over a month into the school year, not having supplies can still be a big concern for some of our students," said Rebecca McGann, Public Information Officer for LCPS. "We'd like to thank the NPHC in Lenoir County for thinking of our students and providing them with additional tools for success."
The NPHC's mission is to 'foster cooperative actions of its members in dealing with matters of mutual concern.' They also strongly encourage practicing goos scholarship and service within their community. The supplies NPHC donated will be distributed to students across LCPS, as identified by school administrators, teachers and guidance counselors.
