  • New First Tech Challenge team up and rolling

    First Tech Challenge offers middle and high school students the opportunity to design, build, test and program robots created to perform specific tasks during competition with other schools and school districts. Seed money for LCPS’s entry into the arena of robotics competition came from a $17,781 state grant the district won in 2019, the second Coding and Mobile App Development Grant awarded LCPS in three years.

  • Sports calendar adjusted as precaution against coronavirus

    Varsity athletic competition will resume next month for LCPS high schools as the district brings its sports calendar in line with North Carolina High School Athletic Association recommendations, flipping some fall and winter sports seasons as a precaution during the coronavirus pandemic.

  • District's leader is Southeast Region Superintendent of Year

    LCPS Superintendent Brent Williams has been named the Regional Superintendent of the Year for the 2020-2021 school year and is one of eight nominees for North Carolina Superintendent of the Year.
