  • For Casey Powell, summer 'vacation' means math

    Barely a month after finishing her junior year at Lenoir County Early College High School, Casey Powell is packing her bags for an adventure of nearly six weeks at the selective N.C. Governor’s School. About a week after Governor’s School ends, she is back at Early College for her fourth and final year.

  • Migrant Education Program named best in state

    In being named winner of the N.C. 2018-19 Outstanding Migrant Education Program, LCPS was cited for its ability to connect children, particularly those of pre-kindergarten age, to education services; its coordination with other community resources; and its efforts to engage parents “through a variety of creative initiatives.”

  • Commencement addresses blend gratitude, encouragement

    In back-to-back-to-back graduation exercises Saturday, the Class of 2019 at South Lenoir, Kinston and North Lenoir high schools received diplomas after receiving praise for the standards the seniors set in scholarships won, academic honors secured and college credits accumulated.
