• College & Financial Aid Night Oct. 30

    Lenoir County's College and Financial Aid Night will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 30, at the Kinston Community Center. Parents and college-bound students will be able to meet with representatives of more than 50 colleges and universities between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. A free workshop on financial aid will be held at 6:30 p.m.

  • Sports teams opening up to home-schoolers

    Beginning with the new school year and the fall sports season, Lenoir County Public Schools will open up participation in middle school and high school athletics to home-schooled students in Lenoir County who meet eligibility requirements established recently by the North Carolina High School Athletic Association. Parents of interested students in the South Lenoir attendance zone should contact our school for more information and to register. Eligibility requirements can be found here.

  • LCPS seeking substitute teachers

    Are you interested in making a difference in the lives of young people in Lenoir County by becoming a substitute teacher? LCPS is now taking applications for the 2019-2020 school year. To qualify, applicants must complete an Effective Teacher Training course (offered at Lenoir Community College) or possess a valid teaching license, complete an online application and get on the waiting list for an interview.   • Basketball Camp scheduled

    SLHS will hold Basketball Camp during the week of June 24-27 for students in grades 1-9. Here is the registration form. If you are interested, please print the form and submit, along with registration fee, to Mr. Jeremy Barnett.

  • Middle/High school students interested in environmental studies at Craven Community College.  Registration is now open if you would like to help us spread the word.  No prior experience/knowledge is necessary to attend- we want everyone to feel welcome!  Students can meet professionals in the environmental careers, other students from across NC, and learn about fun projects they can get involved in- on their own campus.

  • UNC Lenoir Cancer Center Food Pantry needs a boost. They are holding a food drive and while they will take any and all non-perishable items. They really need the following items. Please make sure they are not expired. They will also take items for patients that can’t eat such as: Crossword puzzles, pens, pencils, crayons, colored pencils, Inspirational books, cards.
