  • At-school Covid testing to begin in January

    LCPS is among 17 public school districts and 11 charter schools chosen by NCDHHS for a pilot program designed to slow the spread of Covid-19 by quickly identifying students and staff who may have the virus, especially after the holiday season.

  • Master Gardener grants go to seven teachers

    Grants for 2020 were awarded recently to Brenda Griffin of Pink Hill Elementary School, Rachel Hill of Northwest Elementary School, Jessica Jones of Woodington Middle School, Ashley Ledford of Southwood Elementary School, Jodi Maxey of South Lenoir High School, Carol Riddle of Bethel Christian Academy and Kaitlyn Stroud of Northwest Elementary School.

  • 4-day-a-week in-person schedule an option where possible

    LCPS students currently going to school twice a week for face-to-face instruction can move to a four-day-a-week schedule in January provided public health guidelines can still be met at their school and in their classroom. Parents of students currently on the hybrid plan have until Dec. 16 to apply for the Plan B+ option.

  • LCPS leader named 2021 NC Superintendent of Year

    Brent Williams, Superintendent of Lenoir County Public Schools (LCPS), was named the 2021 A. Craig Phillips North Carolina Superintendent of the Year at an awards presentation and reception held Thursday, Dec. 3.
