  • Delta Kappa Gamma honors 'exceptional' young teachers

    Recognized earlier this month for the work they are doing in their third year of teaching were Amber Corum, Exceptional Childrens self-contained teacher at Southeast Elementary; Mari Hatcher, seventh-grade math teacher at Woodington Middle School; and Heather West, science teacher at South Lenoir High School.

  • Building relationships lowers student suspension numbers

    An intentional, coordinated effort by Lenoir County Public Schools to strengthen the connection between teachers, students and parents has cut the number of out-of-school student suspensions by more than half over the past five school years.

  • Teachers set record with 2020 Bright Ideas grants

    Lenoir County Public Schools teachers at 13 schools won more than $58,000 in grant awards in competition for regional and statewide Bright Ideas grants presented by N.C. Electric Cooperatives and Tri-County EMC of Dudley.

  • Grants from Rotary add to district's store of hotspots

    Grants from the Rotary Club of Kinston and Rotary District 7730 total $4,921 and will go for the purchase of hotspots, devices that will link students’ iPads to cell tower signals to provide broadband capability, and the necessary data plans.

  • North Lenoir senior is Presidential Scholars nominee

    North Lenoir High School senior Karrie-Lyn Deaver will represent Lenoir County Public Schools in competition for U.S. Presidential Scholars Program recognition for CTE students. LCPS announced her selection while honoring her and the two other county finalists, Nya Peoples of Kinston High School and Brian Martinez-Gonzalez of South Lenoir High School.
