Lenoir County Public Schools is inviting students to take part in its 2025-2026 summer programs, offering a wide range of academic and enrichment opportunities for rising sixth through 12th grade students.

The programs will run July 13-23, Monday through Thursday, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with breakfast served daily beginning at 7:45 a.m. Most camps will also provide lunch and transportation, helping ensure access for families across the district.

Lenoir County Public Schools proudly hosted its annual Special Olympics event on Wednesday, bringing together more than 100 student-athletes and dozens of dedicated volunteers for a day centered on inclusion, perseverance, and celebration.

Lenoir County Public Schools welcomed State Superintendent Mo Green to Contentnea-Savannah K-8 School on Wednesday as part of a visit highlighting the school’s participation in the Golden LEAF initiative.

Superintendent Green was joined by leaders from the Golden LEAF Foundation, State Senator Bob Brinson, a representative from Congressman Don Davis’ office, and LCPS leadership. The visit underscored the collaborative effort among state, local, and community partners to support innovative strategies that enhance student achievement.

Last year at Moss Hill Elementary School, a small group of students began meeting with a simple purpose: learn the tools on their iPads well enough to help others use them better. What started as the Moss Hill Tech Team has now grown into Student Innovation Teams in every school across Lenoir County Public Schools.

The idea is straightforward, but the impact is anything but small. Students are not just completing assignments on a device. They are building presentations from the ground up, animating ideas, troubleshooting problems, and walking into classrooms ready to support both peers and teachers.

Lenoir County Public Schools celebrated a significant milestone in the construction of the new E.B. Frink Middle School with a topping out ceremony, marking the placement of the final beam on the structure. The event highlighted the progress of a project that represents years of planning, collaboration, and community investment. The new school is scheduled to open in Spring 2027.

Camila Cisneros-Perez, recently named a North Carolina Presidential Scholar for Career and Technical Education, has transformed her high school experience through creativity, leadership and a willingness to take a leap of faith.

Lenoir County Public Schools hosted a memorable evening of celebration and recognition during its Exceptional Children (EC) Awards Night, honoring students with disabilities from across the district for their achievements, growth, and determination throughout the school year.
